I love Siamese cats - there is something about them that screams grumpy cat. With that in mind I painted this guy today. He is visibly upset with having to take time out to sit still and have his portrait painted. The painting is acrylic on canvas, 8 x 10 inches. I have it available now on ebay

My painting for the day is actually a revamp of a painting I did a couple of months ago. I decided to brighten up the piece a little from what is was and I'm much happier with it now. "Magical Circus Bird" is acrylic on canvas - 6 x 8 inches. It has been sold.

It has been a while since I've painted a tuxedo cat so I decided it was time to paint another. For this occasion I decided to paint the kitty as though he was sitting for a studio portrait. I thought the tuxedo had a bit of a serious look to him so I decided to name him Ellis. "Ellis" is acrylic on canvas, 6 x 6 inches and has been sold.

I began this piece by randomly painting some abstract patterns on the canvas. I continued to paint intuitively in this manner until the birds emerged from the chaos. "Reverence" is the finished result - it is painted with acrylics and measures 6 x 8 inches. The painting is currently available for purchase at my etsy shop.

I have a thing for painting hairy animals. It probably has something to do with the fact that the two kitties in my life are longhairs and my dog is a rough Collie, which means he is the very fluffy, Lassie type. There is no escape from the pet hair, it seems to follow me everywhere.
This painting is inspired by Bella. Bella is a major diva and you can see this for yourself in the first photo. As usual she is hogging the top perch on the kitty tree while her poor sister Trixie has to be content with the lower perch.
